Bridge Letter
Overview of SOC 2 requirements
Sometimes, there is a gap between the end of your SOC 2 report and the current day. That is where a bridge letter comes in.
A bridge letter (also called a gap letter or comfort letter) is a document issued by management to cover the period between the end of a SOC 2 report’s observation period and when a customer requests the report.
The bridge letter is not an official audit document. But for customers doing vendor risk reviews, it helps reassure them that your compliance is still valid, even if the report is a few months old.
