Eurodac, short for European Asylum Dactyloscopy, is a database that stores and compares the fingerprints of asylum seekers. It collects and processes fingerprints of asylum seekers and other migrants, allowing information to be quickly shared between member states. It also helps to ensure the security of Europe’s borders, Eurodac provides a very useful resource in facilitating the legal movement of people seeking refuge in Europe.
