Sprinto at the ISC2 Security Congress

Before we jump into 2025, let’s take a quick trip down memory lane to our awesome 2024 event at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.

  • Swag kits: Free giveaways for our visitors.
  • Spin the wheel: Everybody wins something.
  • Open conversations: Interact with us, ask us anything.

Over two bustling days (October 15th and 16th) in 2024, on the expo floor, we had the privilege of connecting with more than 700 security leaders.

A highlight of our participation was Girish’s (CEO and Co-Founder, Sprinto) compelling 20-minute presentation on “Proving ROI in GRC” to cyber leaders. This talk was well-received, offering practical strategies for demonstrating the value of Governance, Risk, and Compliance initiatives in organizations.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re eager to build on this success. By visiting us at the next ISC2 Security Congress, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  1. Engage in in-depth discussions about the latest in cybersecurity and compliance
  2. Attend insightful presentations from our team and other cybersecurity experts
  3. Network with a diverse group of security professionals and thought leaders
  4. Potentially catch another of Girish’s enlightening talks

What we learned at ISC2 Security Congress 2024

The ISC2 Security Congress 2024’s theme was “Boldly Forward”. In our opinion, it was rightly so, as it focussed a lot on leading the charge against emerging threats in the evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Here are some key takeaways from the annual program in 2024:

Focus on frameworks and standards

A lot of discussions highlighted how organizations are increasingly emphasizing risk management, leveraging frameworks like NIST. There were also talks about aligning these frameworks with emerging technologies like AI and augmented reality.

Emerging technologies and AI

Keynotes and multiple sessions explored how AI is transforming cybersecurity, particularly in governance and safeguarding sensitive information. The introduction of ISO 42001 alongside ISO 27001 was discussed as a way to enhance security and data governance.

Cyber-physical security

We saw a growing focus on the intersection of IT and OT (Operational Technology) security. This area offered insights into the regulatory and framework-based differences between IT and OT cybersecurity.

IT typically deals with data-centric systems (computers, networks), while OT manages physical processes and machinery. Discussions centered on adapting frameworks like NIST CSF to address the specific needs of OT environments.

Workshops and networking

The event featured eight pre-conference workshops that provided in-depth learning on critical topics. Keynote presentations also shared insights on cybersecurity leadership, success metrics, and strategies for bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
