IETF

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), formed in 1986, is a Standards Development Organization (SDO) for the Internet. It is responsible for developing and evolving standards that comprise the Internet protocol suite. It is a large international community of network operators, designers, and researchers who work towards a common goal to develop and promote standards for the Internet. This task force helps develop and publish fundamental Internet protocols and standards such as DNS, TCP/IP, and HTTP.
