The right way to prove your value as a GRC leader

Maybe an ‘I told you so’ (obviously in a very professional way) after an incident could be a clever way to remind the board that your voice needs to be heard and the GRC initiatives can’t be put on the back burner anymore 🤔
But let’s skip the theatrics. You don’t need all that. What you do as a CISO or a GRC leader is intrinsically valuable.
You’re not the ‘cost center,’ the ‘department of no,’ or the ‘speed bump’. You’re a strategic partner in growth and business agility.
So, to have a louder voice in the boardroom, all you need to do is own your narrative (and connect with their priorities – the bottom line)
Here’s how to do it…
1) Every story has three sides – yours, theirs, and the truth

During our recent visit to the SaaStr conference 2024, we learned that the tides are shifting— the era of growth at all costs is dead, and the focus is back on solid unit economics.
This shift impacts us GRC leaders. So today, as every penny is scrutinized – we must speak the language of our business counterparts, particularly the CEO and CFO, and showcase the business value of GRC.
